The Epic Snow Tubing Hill In North Carolina, Hawksnest, Is Filled With Winter Thrills

Hawksnest in North Carolina offers the largest snow tubing park on the east coast with 30 lanes and both day and night sessions.

With a blanket of snow having already fallen in places on the western side of the state, there's no shame in already planning some epic sledding or skiing trips in the mountains. While plenty of us have our go-to sledding spots, sometimes we want to take it to the next level and try snow tubing. Luckily, the Tar Heel State is home to the best snow tubing hill in North Carolina and the biggest snow tubing destination on the east coast that mixes all levels and thrills.

As the largest snow tubing park in North Carolina, Hawksnest features four various areas and 30 snow-covered lanes.

Hawksnest is the largest tubing park on the east coast with lanes that span anywhere from 400-1000 feet long. Riders of all ages and levels can experience the thrill of rocketing down a mountain and snow tubing in fresh powder. Not to mention, you can take in gorgeous mountain views throughout your ride.

The snow tubing doesn't just include the daytime but runs through the night.

With snow making machines and lighting on all slopes, the tubing goes from day-to-night with pristine conditions at all times.

Each session lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Tickets are available online until midnight the day before you plan to visit. Tickets can also be purchased at Hawksnest. Tickets per session run $31/ person ages 3 and over (Monday - Friday)and $40/person ages 3 and over on Saturday/Sunday and holidays.

If you want to stay even longer, you can purchase tickets for multiple sessions.

If you think two hours isn't enough to try all the various trails, you can purchase more than one session. Sessions take place at time increments including 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm. On Friday/Saturday and Holidays there's also a 6pm session.

Each lane offers something different for each tuber.

All ages can enjoy a snow tubing trip at Hawksnest. Little ones can ride with adults while adults can utilize the more fast and thrilling trails if they're looking for a different type of weekend activity. A groomed carpet takes you back up to the top where you can go down various lanes time and time again. While many of us love the experience of sledding, this adds a whole new thrill without the hassle of lugging our sled back to the top of the hill to go again.

If you're looking for exciting and adventurous things to do in winter in North Carolina... then this would be perfect! It's advised to dress warm, wear the normal clothes you'd wear when playing in the snow - gloves, layers, protective waterproof pants and jackets as well as socks, gloves, hates and even face masks for the really cold days. If you need to recharge between sessions there's a coffee bar, hamburgers and pizza onsite.
