What does a great hike look like? Well, there are a lot of different ways to have one, but we'll try to take a stab at what we think the ideal summer hike situation might be. It's physically challenging, but not so much that you can't have a fun time, and it comes with some amazing views. The Anthony's Nose hike in New York checks all those boxes and more. It's quite possibly the best hiking trail in the Hudson Valley. For more information on this great trail, keep reading below.
Anthony’s Nose is a two-mile out-and-back trail close to the town of Cold Spring, New York. You enter through the Route 9D trailhead.
The trail is considered by most to be a moderately challenging route and takes roughly an hour and 20 minutes to finish. Have a dog? Bring them along! They must be on a leash, though.
The trail moves upward for around half of a mile. This part of the hike is the most challenging—after that, it’s a pretty mellow trek.
Once you get to the top, you will be greeted with unforgettable views of the Bear Mountain Bridge and the Hudson River! These views are worth the hike alone.
Be sure to wear bug spray on this hike—the mosquitos at the top are no joke. But with a bit of preparation, dealing with them should be no big deal.
Don't put this beautiful destination on the back burner. Make the trip to Anthony's Nose trailhead sooner rather than later!
On the western side of the state you'll find hiking trails in New York that lead to some pretty amazing waterfalls. Check out this video of Watkins Glen State Park:

While in the Hudson Valley region, why not check out this legally haunted house? Or, if that's not your speed, you can always dine at Charlotte’s, a wonderful restaurant for a romantic sunset dinner. For a lovely weekend getaway, we recommend The Wick in Hudson, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.
