Fall means pumpkins, period. If there is a more timeless, durable autumnal American pastime than going to the pumpkin patch, we don’t know it. There is nothing like jumping in the car and driving to an amazing farm to pick up some plump orange balls of joy. There are plenty of great New York pumpkin patches, of course, but we think fall in New York wouldn't be complete without visiting these five gems!
Today, we've honed in on some of the absolute best pumpkin patches in New York that you'll want to make a tradition of experiencing with friends or family.
1. Cobble Creek Farm, Spencerport

Cobble Creek Farm is a fabulous pumpkin patch to return to a few times over the course of the season! For over a century, this fantastic farm has been known for its hayrides, pumpkins, and fall happenings—think corn pits, kiddo train rides, corn mazes, and even a few haunted surprises. 2. The Great Pumpkin Farm, Clarence
The Great Pumpkin Farm goes all the way back to 1996 and has even been in the Guinness World Book of Records for creating the first 1,000-pound pumpkin. And yes—their massive annual pumpkin displays are available for viewing! The annual fall festival is full of all sorts of attractions, from events to rides to attractions. And, of course, pumpkin picking! It's all in the name, right? This is a must-stop for visitors near the town of Clarence. This year's event takes place September 13th through October 31st, 2025.
3. Sunnyside Gardens, Saratoga Springs
Located near Albany, Sunnyside Gardens is an award-winning garden center whose fall pumpkin patch is fun for the whole family. Beyond the patch, the gardens also offer hay rides, live music, and a lot more. The fun begins on the last Saturday of September and runs through the end of October. You don't want to miss it!
4. Pumpkinville, Great Valley
In the autumn, there is one thing that is almost as important as pumpkins: apple cider. Here at Pumpkinville, visitors can order some fresh cider, squeezed on site, and then sip it as they search for the perfect pumpkin. What could be better? Plus, this year, they have a whole new menu of offerings, including an interactive crank tractor, a corn barn, and unforgettable animal encounters. This year's event is planned for September 13th – October 31st, 2025.
5. Abbott Farms, Baldwinsville

This fall at Abbott Farms, pick apples and pumpkins alike for a great price and enjoy a variety of photo ops. It’s worth making the trip to the town of Baldwinsville to visit this sweet farm, which boasts not only year-round you-pick opportunities for a variety of produce but also has a fantastic sunflower farm as well! They also host a number of special events throughout the year. The fall fun takes place between September 6th and November 2nd, 2025.
