The Breathtaking New Jersey Hike That Glows Gold Once A Year
New Jersey is a spectacular state for enjoying fall foliage and one of the best ways to take it all in is through a nice, scenic hike. We've got plenty to choose from but one that really shines during the autumn months is Torne Mountain.
Torne Mountain is located in Norvin Green State Forest.
But during the fall, this forest is anything but green.
You'll enjoy shades of gold, amber and scarlet.
The trail to the top is 2.4 miles and, while it may be difficult at times, it's worth the effort.
For a scenic hike you'll never forget, start on the blue trail and pick up the red trail on your way back.
The trail will take you past impressive boulders, Osio Rock and the strange "Stone Living Room," seen below.
And you'll experience views from the start, with 360 degree views quite quickly after beginning your hike.
Perhaps one of the best fall hikes in New Jersey, it certainly isn't the only stunning option. This article features some of the best places to see fall foliage right now in New Jersey. The southern portion of the state will be experiencing peak season a bit later. For full details on hiking Torne Mountain, visit NJHiking.com.
