New Jersey is full of natural wonders that will make your jaw drop. The state has a diverse array of nature gorgeous beaches, blue lakes, thick forests, tall mountains, strange rock formations, gushing waterfalls, and more. Most of these natural gems are well-known, but some still fly under the radar. The Boonton Gorge (located in — where else? — Boonton) is an intriguing and gorgeous natural sight in New Jersey.

You can observe Boonton Gorge from Grace Lord Park in the town.

The Gorge is caused by the Rockaway River. The river is normally peaceful, but once it flows over a man-made dam, it turns into a series of rapids and waterfalls.

A bridge crosses the river at a certain point. It makes for a great viewing location!

Basically, The Boonton Gorge is a perfect reminder of how beautiful and fierce nature is.

We're not sure there's anywhere else like it in New Jersey.

Fishing is also available around here, but we don't recommend canoeing, or swimming, or kayaking through Boonton Gorge. With Class IV and V rapids, it's definitely not safe.
