One of the most fun days out can be had at this spot that's been around for over 100 years.
Canobie Lake Park in Salem sits directly Canobie Lake and has been offering up the best family fun since 1902. That's nearly 100 years of making people happy!
The park was originally intended to create a reason for people from places like Boston to make the trip north, bringing additional tourism dollars to the region. Back then it was a trolley park and while we're not entirely sure what that is, we have to imagine it wasn't nearly as fun as the park is today.
The amusement park offers thrilling rides like the Canobie Corkscrew roller coaster. This doozy has two loops that take passengers upside down.
For those that don't like to spend any time upside down there are tamer rides that still offer a thrill. The Davinci's Dream swings are a favorite.
And the Giant Sky Wheel is both fun and beautiful. You'll be able to see way into the distance at the top. And from the ground, the lights at night make the ride a spectacle on its own.
Is there anyone that doesn't like a carousel? This one is one of the best.
Once you've had your fill of dry land, make your way to the water park. Canobie Lake Park features both, which makes this the perfect destination for a hot summer day.
Castaway Island feels like a trip to the Caribbean! That is, if the Caribbean offered things like log flumes, twisty-turny water slides and a wave pool.
For some relaxation, enjoy the Castaway Island Tidal River which is even more fun than your typical lazy river. This one includes waves that are pumped in every 12 seconds.
The Castaway Island Rain Fortress offers an interactive way to cool down with all sorts of features that are sure to keep kids and adults busy.
