There are a lot of ways to enjoy the great outdoors of New Hampshire, but we're particularly drawn to the ones that include a little bit of education. Between the trails that come with historical markers and those that offer information on different local landscapes, it's not hard to walk away with a little extra knowledge when we're outdoors. This farm in Laconia offers its own kind of education and you'll love it if you enjoy being outside.
Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center in Laconia has been helping visitors gain a deeper appreciation of the world around them for more than two decades! The farm grounds are both beautiful and calming, which means visiting will soothe the soul.
They offer educational programs for the community as well as a fully-accredited pre-school and a summer camp program for kids up to 14 years old.
There's a lot to love about the farm, but we particularly enjoy the trails they offer.
You'll find five different trails here ranging in length from a short pathway to a half-mile to one mile. Each one is relatively flat which makes this an easy and fun trip for hiking beginners.
One of the best things about Prescott Farm is that they're open year-round, which means the fun doesn't have to stop with chilly weather and some snow.
Simply bundle up and head on out!
And if you can't make it to the farm, check them out on Facebook (link below) to enjoy some of the educational information they share daily.
There are lots of fun activities for kids and curious adults. Then, when you're ready to brave the outdoors again, consider enjoying one of the best ways to get outside in all of New Hampshire.
