There's something about New Hampshire in the winter that always has us a little bit excited. But that doesn't mean we're always ready for it.

The Farmers' Almanac has been delivering seasonal predictions since 1818 and it's always a great way to begin mentally preparing for what's to come.

Looking at the Farmers' Almanac winter weather predictions for the 2022-2023 season, New Hampshire will have its normal winter chill with snowy/icy/slushy conditions.

Then in January, brace yourself for extremely cold temperatures. Bone-chillingly cold temperatures.

January will start out cold for most of the country. Then, slowly but surely, it will get colder. New Hampshire residents can expect the coldest temperatures from the middle to the later part of the month.

Also during January, expect storm activity that will bring snow, sleet, rain, and ice. Sidewalks and driveways are sure to get slippery during this time, so be sure to have some bags of salt on hand! Not that we aren't used to that here in New Hampshire.

With periods of calm followed by cold and snow, March will probably be a bit like February. While these months won't bring constant snow as in other years, it looks like having salt on-hand isn't a bad idea.

And in March, we ought to start seeing temperatures continue to warm up, with a bit of a "lion" ending to the month in the form of lots of storms. So just be prepared!
