The Tranquil Basin Overlook in Montana offers a challenging hike with rewarding scenic views.
Montana is called Big Sky Country for a reason -- our state is full of sweeping views. And if you're up for a bit of a challenge and some sore leg muscles, you can take in one of the best views in the Treasure State this summer. The Tranquil Basin Overlook is well worth the adventure.
You'll find the Tranquil Basin Overlook in Flathead County, near Essex.
To reach the trailhead, just locate the Bear Creek River Access on Highway 2, about 45 miles east of West Glacier.
The climb to the overlook is a bit of a strenuous one,.
You'll climb uphill for several miles. And although some parts are steeper than others, there's no flat surface until you reach the top.
But eventually, you will reach the top. And that's when you'll see that it was all worth it.
The Tranquil Basin Overlook is absolutely amazing.
The overlook will probably take you a couple of hours to reach, so spend plenty of time relaxing and enjoying it.
Pack a picnic and plenty of water.
Don't forget to reward yourself along the way.
