This Quaint Little Trail Is The Shortest And Sweetest Hike In Montana

Running Eagle Falls Trail in Glacier National Park offers a short, scenic hike with a beautiful waterfall.

For one reason or another, sometimes only a (very) short hike will do. Luckily, Montana has a trail for every need and skill level, including a few that are short and sweet. Running Eagle Falls Trail is one that any able-bodied Montanan can (and should) do.

Running Eagle Falls Trail is located in Glacier National Park near East Glacier Park.

Follow the northern shore line of Lower Two Medicine Lake, then turn to the south for Running Eagle Falls Trail.

Not only is the trail beautiful, it's only about 0.7 miles in length.

Obviously, the highlight of the hike is the breathtaking waterfall.

Running Eagle Falls, also known as "Trick Falls", flows off the outlet stream between Two Medicine Lake and Lower Two Medicine Lake.

This is such a peaceful place to spend a spring or summer afternoon.

Since this is such an easy hike, it stays pretty popular.

But if you go early in the morning in early spring or later in the fall, you'll beat the rush and enjoy a little solitude.

When you're short on time (or a little out of shape) but still want to hike, these stunning trails are all 3 miles or less in length.
