If you're headed to Glacier National Park, you'll find myriad trails, views, and things to do. But, if you only have time for one hike, we have one you'll want to try.

The St. Mary and Virginia Falls Trail is located just off the Going-to-the-Sun Road, making it convenient to access if you choose to take this popular scenic drive.

The out-and-back trail is just under 3 miles and the trailhead can be accessed by following the signs indicating St. Mary Falls.

While the main attraction for most hikers is likely to be the two waterfalls and the beautiful creek, the journey along this waterfall hiking trail in Montana is just as incredible.

The first part of the route takes hikers through the forest and along the water.

But, it's not long before St. Mary's Falls can be seen. This two-tier waterfall drops about 50 feet and it's one of the most visited falls in the park.

Continue along the route and you'll pass other small waterfalls. Soon you'll arrive at Virginia Falls.

Located at the end of Virginia Creek, this waterfall is a bit larger than St. Mary's.

Both waterfalls and the smaller ones along the way are gorgeous, making this a great way to spend some time in Glacier National Park.

Once you've had your fill, simply turn around and head back the same way you came until you reach the trailhead.

St. Mary and Virginia Falls Trail in Glacier National Park can be accessed year-round, though people generally say it's best between January and September.
