The Rare Underground Waterfall In Missouri You’ll Have To See To Believe
Marvel Cave in Branson, Missouri, features a rare underground waterfall and offers guided tours through its historic and deep limestone formations.
Waterfalls just might be Mother Nature's most amazing masterpieces. We can enjoy the sheer beauty of a waterfall in so many places - from charming restaurants to sprawling state parks - in Missouri. But, did you know there's also a spectacular, rare underground waterfall in Missouri that tumbles down in the state's deepest cave?
Go deep underground for an unforgettable adventure that features a spellbinding waterfall at Marvel Cave, tucked in Branson.
Marvel Cave, discovered in the 16th century, goes 505 feet below the ground. If you want to explore the historic cave and admire the waterfall, you'll have to be in fairly good physical shape.
At the beginning of the guided tour, you'll descend 300 feet underground by stairs. The 60-minute tour, in fact, will require you to climb 600 stairs.
Admire the limestone formations as you stroll from room to room, including the Cathedral Room. Then, when you find yourself 505 feet below the ground, the deepest point in the cave...
You'll enter the Waterfall Room. The waterfall, often lit in bright colors like pink or blue, is sourced from The Lost River, a stream.
Unfortunately, the Waterfall Room is not always open as it tends to flood.
The Spring Room also features several waterfalls that, as they flow, will make you feel as though you're listening to a comforting rain shower.
At the end of your tour, you'll return above ground via a cable car that dates back to 1957. Sit back, relax, and...
Watch as you ascend toward the daylight. Tours are offered during the day and in the evening. You'll be guided by lanterns on the evening tour.
Marvel Cave welcomes guests annually between March 13 and January 1.
