Summer and the water just go hand-in-hand, especially here in Missouri. We can lounge on one of the state’s sandy beaches that lead straight into cool lake waters, or we can spend time on the water, exploring Missouri’s many beautiful lakes. One thing you might want to do is spend a leisurely summer day with a Smithville Lake kayak rental (paddleboards too!) for a fun adventure with an idyllic Show Me State backdrop.
Northland Outdoor Adventures/Paradise Outfitters is tucked in Little Platte Park in Smithville.
Its location makes it easy to spend a leisurely day kayaking on beautiful Smithville Lake.
You can, in fact, rent either a kayak or a paddle board ...
... both of which are popular with visitors at the lake.
One-person and tandem kayaks are available for rent by the hour, for a few hours, or for a full day.
Prices are nominal, making it a great budget-friendly activity.
It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, kayaking is a low-stress activity.
You don't need to be in great physical shape. However, if you’re under 18, your parent or guardian will have to sign a waiver for you to participate.
Before you head out onto the water, just be aware that the lake is 60 feet at its deepest points.
So, if you lose something, it’s probably going to stay lost. Only bring what is necessary.
However, if you bring a bungee cord, you can attach a small cooler to your kayak ...
... so you’ll have cool drinks and snacks during your adventure.
If you haven't tried paddleboarding, you will love it!
It's among the most fun recreational activities in The Show Me State.
Ready for a few hours or a full day of kayaking?

You should also plan to spend some time in the town of Smithville itself, as it is charming and has lots to offer.
