This Mississippi Zoo Transforms Into A Holiday Wonderland Each Year And You Don’t Want To Miss It

Hattiesburg Zoo transforms into a holiday wonderland for Zoo Lights, featuring festive rides, a holiday market, and appearances by Santa.

Hattiesburg Zoo is a great visit year-round, but it’s even better in December when the zoo transforms into a holiday wonderland for Zoo Lights. The annual celebration offers fun for the entire family. From festive rides and a holiday market to appearances by Santa himself, this is one Yule tide event you don’t want to miss. Take a look:

Each December, Hattiesburg Zoo hosts Zoo Lights. Normally, the festive celebration takes place over the course of a weekend, but this year, it’s been extended to two weekends.

This year’s event is scheduled for December 15th – 16th and December 21st – 23rd.

During Zoo Lights, the zoo is transformed into a holiday wonderland thanks to lots of twinkling lights.

The festive décor is just the beginning, though.

There are also lots of activities to keep the entire brood entertained.

In the spirit of the season, the zoo's famous train is transformed into the Polar Express.

Even better, unlimited train rides are included with event entry.

The Candy Cane Carousel is also included with the $10-admission, and it's sure to be just as magical.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to get kiddos in the Christmas spirit. After getting a picture with Santa, children can enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus.

And since the event takes place at a zoo, there are plenty of chances for animal encounters.

Don't leave Zoo Lights without checking out the holiday market, which is perfect for picking up some last minute gifts.
