Head To This Historic Mississippi Home For An Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration

Christmas is just a couple of weeks away, which means it’s time to start packing in the festive fun. And if you’re looking for an old-fashioned holiday celebration, look no further than Christmas at Beauvoir. The annual event is held at Beauvoir, the former home of Jefferson Davis. But it’s not just the historic location that’ll take you back to days long gone. Take a look:

Located in Biloxi, Beauvoir is one of the top attractions on the Gulf Coast. The historic home is a great visit year round but is even more special during the holidays, when it’s transformed into a festive wonderland for Christmas at Beauvoir.

Held for the first time in 2012, the annual celebration has quickly become a local favorite.

This year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 19th – Saturday, December 22nd. The festivities will take from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The historic setting alone is enough to transport you back in time, but that’s not the only old-fashioned aspect of Christmas at Beauvoir.

Carolers, storytellers, actors, and musicians in 1889 period dress are sure to remind attendees of days long gone.

There are also crafts, games, and activities from the time period for visitors to take part in.

Even better, much of the festive fun takes place on the grounds of the property, which is decked out in countless twinkling lights.

During Christmas at Beauvoir, the historic home is decorated for the holidays and opened for tours. And just to make the tour that much more festive, visitors are given hot chocolate to enjoy along the way.

Father Christmas will be available for photos each night, so don’t forget your camera.

A completely affordable holiday event, admission is $10 per car Wednesday through Friday. On Saturday, it’s $12.50 for adults, $10 for members of the military and seniors, $7.50 for kids 6-18, and free for kids 5 and under.
