Don’t let a lack of scuba diving knowledge or the inability to swim deter you from enjoying the perks of an underwater experience. Thanks to SeaTREK, which is otherwise known as helmet diving, just about anyone can immerse themselves into the ocean's habitat. Take a look:

Several years and millions of dollars in the making, the Mississippi Aquarium opened in Gulfport in August 2020.

Though it’s only been open a short time, it’s already been deemed one of the state’s top attractions.

With over 80,000-square-feet of exhibits, there’s plenty to see at the aquarium. However, visitors can do more than admire marine life from afar.

SeaTREK, a near zero-gravity diving system, gives visitors the chance to dive beneath the water’s surface and get up close and personal with fish, sharks, rays, and much more.

The "world's largest guided helmet diving program," SeaTREK is available on five continents and 27 countries!

Part of the reason that it’s such a huge hit is that just about anyone can do it, including non-swimmers and non-divers.

What’s more, your hair and face remain dry throughout the entire experience. You can even wear glasses while doing it!

There are a few things you should know about the SeaTREK experience, including that it’s offered weekly, Friday – Sunday.

Additionally, the SeaTREK experience must be booked in advance via the aquarium’s website. There are only two sessions per day – each of which is limited to four participants – so it’s important to reserve your spot early.

Lastly, all participants must be 10 years or older.

And though wetsuits are provided, participants need to bring a bathing suit and towel.
