Slides and rides are usually the highlights of Mississippi water parks. However, that’s not always the case. We’ve got several water parks in the Magnolia State that are centered around natural features, such as lakes, creeks, and rivers. And while these parks may boast the occasional slide, they offer plenty of other ways to beat the heat. 1. Presley’s Outing (Moss Point)

A local favorite for over 40 years, this little slice of paradise is centered around Goode’s Mill Lake. The perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day, the grounds include a white sand beach, canoe and kayak rentals, BBQ pits, and an on-site restaurant. 2. Lake Tiak-O’khata (Louisville)

The highlight of this small town gem is a gorgeous lake with a white sand beach, but that’s not where the perks end. There are also water slides, a volleyball court, a picnic area, and a restaurant. If one day isn’t enough to take in all the park has to offer, no problem; the grounds also include cabins, a lakeside motel, and RV Park.

3. Yogi on the Lake (Pelahatchie)

With a lake AND a traditional water park, Yogi on the Lake offers the best of both worlds as far as on-the-water fun is concerned. At the water park, you’ll find slides, a splash pad, and an infinity pool. The lake, which is surrounded by a sandy beach, offers endless opportunities for fun in the sun, thanks in part to pontoon, powerboat, kayak, and water bike rentals. 4. Merit Water Park (Mendenhall)

Not your typical water park, Merit Water Park doesn’t have any slides or rides. Instead, it boasts a spring-fed creek with some of the cleanest, clearest water in the state. And since the creek is spring-fed, the water is nice and cold all year long, making it the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day.

5. D’Lo Water Park (Mendenhall)

Just a short drive from Merit Water Park, you’ll find the equally as splendid D’Lo Water Park. Though this park is also free of slides and rides, it offers a myriad of recreational opportunities – the best of which is a natural pool on the Strong River. The park also offers kayaking, camping, and fishing bait – all for a fee.

6. Bogue Chitto Water Park (McComb)

This water park and campground combo consists of 230 acres of pure outdoor fun, including camping, hiking, and most importantly, tubing.

7. Flint Creek Water Park (Wiggins)

This 1,900-acre park offers water-related fun for the whole family. The highlight of the park is a 650-acre lake with 13 miles of shoreline. Swimming, waterskiing, boating, and fishing are favorites at this Wiggins staple. Get an aerial view of this beautiful water park:
