More than 20 beaches along Mississippi’s Gulf Coat have been closed recently due to toxic algae blooms. But, despite the closures, you can still have some beach-related fun. Located in Moss Point, Presley’s Outing is a "recreational and RV park" that just so happens to include an incredible lakeside beach. Offering all the perks of the ocean — minus the toxic algae — the lake beach is sure to become your new favorite destination. Take a look:
Tucked away in rural Moss Point, Presley’s Outing may take a bit of effort to get to, but it’s completely worth it.
The recreational and RV park is centered around Goodes Mill Lake, which is a wide bend on the Escatawpa River.
Practically hidden among the trees and surrounded by a white sand beach, the lake is like a secret paradise.
Although, the crowds of people let you know that it’s no secret. Presley’s Outing has been in business for decades — and a local favorite nearly as long.
The beach area is pretty big, so despite the crowds, the beach never seems too crowded.
The water-related fun doesn’t end with swimming, though. Presley’s Outing has kayaks and paddleboards, which can be rented.
Other amenities include volleyball nets, grills, picnic tables, and fishing wharfs.
A day of fun in the sun is bound to work up an appetite. Luckily, there’s an on-site restaurant, where you can fill up on everything from seafood platters to pizzas.
Presley’s Outing is open daily from 7 a.m. until dusk. But your visit doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down — so long as you reserve one of the park’s 113 RV campsites.
