Minnesota is known for many things including cold winters, thousands of lakes, and sweet corn. There's one thing we are definitely not known for, and that's waterfalls. However, as many Minnesotans know, waterfalls are something the state deserves to be known for. Not only do we have a multitude of phenomenal falls throughout the state, but we even have an underground waterfall, in addition to a disappearing waterfall. Despite what out-of-state folks are saying, Minnesota is the place for waterfalls and it's about time for people to start realizing it. These stunning falls are the tallest in the state and can be found on the northern border. They are truly awe-inspiring and definitely not something people would expect from Minnesota.
2. Pigeon River Middle Falls
Near the high falls, the equally stunning middle falls drop into a beautiful pool of water that's perfect for swimming and exploring.
3. Gooseberry Falls State Park
By far, Minnesota's most beautiful and iconic falls, these three tiers of wonderful cascades look like something from one of the larger mountain ranges instead of on our own North Shore.
This mysterious waterfall is not known to many, but half of Devil's Kettle drops into the earth to never be seen again. It's such a fascinating natural phenomenon and it's right here in northern Minnesota.
5. High Falls at Tettegouche State Park
This is another epic tall waterfall at Tettegouche State Park. The views are absolutely unreal!
6. Manitou Falls at George Crosby Manitou State Park
On the river at this backcountry state park, you can find plenty of awe-inspiring waterfalls and even camp right next to them.
7. Cascade River Falls
These cascades are truly one of a kind and can also be found on Minnesota's North Shore. The many layers along the river's path to Lake Superior are positively mesmerizing.
8. Hidden Falls
Down a quick path, Hidden Falls are long, beautiful, and surrounded by the perfect clearing for enjoying their beauty. You can even walk across the top of the falls and stroll up the river for the perfect, calming experience.

10. Minneopa Falls
This waterfall is 39-feet tall and positively stunning! Not many people would think to find it in Southern Minnesota.
