But if you're looking for something extra-special make your way to Cutler and the Bold Coast trail to enjoy one of the most incredible trails in the state. Not near the region? One of the most beautiful regions of the state is Downeast! While the area might be a bit off-the-beaten-path for some it's certainly worth the trip!

This section of Maine is home to the Cutler Coast Public Reserved Land, a 12,334-acre swath of the state offering some seriously incredible nature.

With 4.5 miles of headlands that sit looking out over the Bay of Fundy, the Cutler Coast offers some of the best outdoor experiences you can find.

One of those is the Bold Coast Trail!

The 2.7-mile hike leads visitors through the forest and to the cliffs at the shore. This makes for one of the most scenic trails in the state.

While the route is considered "moderate," it's not impossible. The rating is primarily due to the rocky edges. The good news? There's minimal elevation gain.

The trail is well-marked and the out-and-back set-up makes it easy to find your way back to the trailhead. On a sunny day, the views are incredible.

And they're just as breathtaking when conditions are foggy and grey. If you love the variety that Maine weather can offer, you'll really appreciate how different this route can be each time to take it.
