Ah, the swamp. There's something truly amazing about it. And when it comes to the Atchafalaya River Basin swamp---there's just nothing like it. Visitors flock for the amazing hunting opportunities, the numerous bayous and lakes desperate for a paddle, and just to simply enjoy the amazing nature that has come to epitomize the natural beauty of our great state of Louisiana. Take a look at these incredible shots!
As the sun comes up and shines on the cypress trees, the beauty is undeniable.
If anyone has ever taken this bridge across the basin, this picture is for you. Simply beautiful at dusk.
And don’t forget---alligators are lurking everywhere throughout the swamp.
The mist from the water and the trees almost reminds me of a Dr. Seuss book!
And look what we found! A real witch paddling out into the swamp! (Going on the pumpkin parade that is…)
The cypress dripping with Spanish moss seem to whisper about times gone by as they beckon paddlers down the bayous.
Thousands of birds populate the area, migrating through the seasons—but spotting an owl is a truly precious treat!
And sometimes the swamp just simply takes your breath away.
