Cuddle The Most Adorable Rescued Farm Animals For Free At Barney’s Farm Sanctuary In Louisiana

In Franklinton, Louisiana two animal lovers are hard at work protecting four-legged friends at Barney's Farm Sanctuary. Owners Allison and Shaun established the farm in 2016 and take in abused, neglected, and unwanted animals. Some are up for adoption and some will have permanent residence on the farm.

The sanctuary is home to a huge herd of goats and sheep.

In fact, it's named after one of the owners' favorite sheep, Barney, who has sadly since passed.

Farm animals aren't the only ones finding safety at Barney's. Cats and dogs who are strays or surrenders are accepted at the farm.

Many are ready to be adopted by a new family.

Visitors can make an appointment with the sanctuary to visit animals up for adoption.

If the visit goes well you might find yourself going home with a new roommate!

The animals on the farm are kept strictly as pets. Chickens and roosters only stay in their coop at night; otherwise, they're free to roam at their leisure.

The horses housed on the farm are permanent residents and not up for adoption, but they love visitors!

The horses come from a variety of circumstances. In some cases, they were race horses neglected by owners when they could no longer perform.

Barney's is always looking for volunteers to perform various functions around the farm and with the animals.
