It gets pretty toasty in Indiana during the warm summer months, which means Hoosiers are always looking for ways to stay cool when outdoors. One of the most popular ways, of course, is taking a quick swim to cool down and relax. We've covered some of the most popular swimming holes in Indiana before, but there are actually some pretty neat underrated swimming holes you should check out. These awesome places to go swimming in Indiana will keep you cool this summer.
1. White Rock Park - St. Paul
White Rock Park in St. Paul is an amazing swimming hole that offers high diving, scuba diving, rope swinging, and zip lining. This swimming hole consists of three quarries, ensuring there is fun in the water fit for everyone. Whether you want to relax and float or cliff dive into the deep end, you'll have an amazing time at White Rock Park.
2. Lake Monroe Spillway - Bloomington
You have likely heard of Lake Monroe, but the Lake Monroe Spillway is an amazing swimming spot that you're bound to love. Follow trails up to the cliff rocks, enjoy the beach, and have all the water-themed fun you can handle at this gorgeous swimming paradise.
3. Fox Island Park - Fort Wayne
Often referred to as the Fox Island Pond or Bowman Lake, the pretty swimming hole you'll find in Fort Wayne's Fox Island Park is stunning. With nearby trails and picnic areas, you can easily make a day out of a trip to this swimming hole.
4. Fowler Park Lake - Terre Haute
Nestled in Terre Haute is the popular Fowler Park Lake and Beach, an amazing place to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the water.
5. Prairie Creek Reservoir - Muncie
This stunning reservoir is tucked away in Muncie, a little off the beaten trail. Hoosiers can enjoy swimming and boating and have the chance to participate in swimming races and other fun activities. Enjoy the gorgeous Prairie Creek Reservoir Park and beach, as well.
6. Scales Lake - Boonville
Scales Lake, located in Scales Lake Park in Evansville, is another tucked-away beach that offers plenty of fun in the water for Hoosiers. From swimming to canoeing, you'll find a safe haven at Scales.
7. Mounds Beach at Brookville Lake - Brookville
If you're in Eastern Indiana, one of the best places to go for swimming is Brookville Lake. Mounds Beach at Brookville Lake offers a gorgeous shoreline and water for swimming, while letting Hoosiers camp nearby to extend their summertime fun.
8. France Park - Logansport
France Park in Logansport is popular for ziplining across and into the water. Not feeling so extreme? No worries. The beach is an awesome, more relaxing space to hang out in.
