Boise, Idaho Just Broke Ground On A Unique City Park

While there are many things we love about Boise, at the top of the list is its city parks. With dozens of parks around the city, there are many incredible destinations for a day outdoors, in the fresh air, and while moving your body. But coming to the city in 2024 is Primrose Park, a unique city park that you’ll want to add right to the top of your Boise bucket list.

No matter where you go in the City of Trees, you will find a city park that is perfect for a day outside. From extremely popular parks like Kathryn Albertson Park to those that are lesser-known (but just as impressive!) like Pine Grove Park, spending a day outdoors is easy and enjoyable.

In September 2023, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean broke ground on a new city park — Primrose Park. This will become a 1.5-acre park in Northwest Boise.

However, this isn’t going to be your average city park. Rather, it’s a park that is going to offer something for everyone. For example, it will boast inclusive playgrounds with play structures and features that allow children of all ages and with all abilities to play, imagine, and explore.

Adults will also be able to get outside and move their bodies on the outdoor gym equipment.

Additionally, the park will feature many traditional amenities including picnic tables and a picnic shelter, drinking fountains, grassy areas, and lots of shade trees.

You will also find walking paths and even a pollinator garden. In fact, Primrose Park is named for a native pollinator you will find here — Primrose.

Much of the construction of Primrose Park will begin early 2024. The park will not be completed until the winter of 2024. The master plan for this park was established with feedback and suggestions from the community.

Primrose Park will be a wonderful addition to Boise’s collection of city parks. Once open, it will be a wonderful outdoor destination for the entire family.
