A boardwalk trail will take guests from the trailhead in the parking lot about one-quarter mile through the landscape, where the falls will certainly be heard before seen.

This natural waterfall plunges nearly 73 feet into a sinkhole before the water disappears without a trace.

The waterfall is truly something of a modern marvel, due to the fact that the 20-foot cylindrical hole at the bottom seemingly disappears into nothingness.

The history behind the state park is truly fascinating, especially after a 2007 archaeological dig by the University of West Florida uncovered artifacts dating back over 1,500 years.

Some of the artifacts found include a whiskey distillery, gristmill, and remnants of an unsuccessful capped-off oil well.

Visitors to the falls can enjoy views from the wooden platform and, on days after heavy rains, can feel the mist of the waterfall on their faces.
