You Might Be Surprised to Hear the Predictions About Delaware’s Mild and Dry Upcoming Winter

Fall is well underway, and we're greatly enjoying the changing leaves, apple and pumpkin picking, and crisp fall air. But soon enough we'll all be putting the fall decorations away and getting ready to welcome winter — breaking out the cold weather gear and putting up holiday lights. And what kind of winter will we be welcoming, exactly? The Old Farmer's Almanac has some ideas. Since 1792, The Old Farmers' Almanac has offered an extended weather forecast using its own time-tested weather formula, so we can be prepared for whatever comes our way. Winter will be on its way before you know it, and The Old Farmer's Almanac has predicted that Delaware's 2024-2025 winter will be more "mild and dry" than normal.

Per the winter weather predictions in Delaware, temperatures should be slightly higher than normal throughout the season with the exception of February which is expected to have temperatures that are two percent below average.

We may also experience the occasional cold snap in mid-December, both early and late January, and late February.

As for precipitation and snow, the Farmer's Almanac winter forecast for Delaware expects it to be a drier-than-normal winter. However, if it does snow, we should anticipate most snowfall to occur in late December and again in late February.

Of course, whether or not we experience a bit of cold and a little stormy winter weather, that won't stop us Delawareans from getting out and enjoying the holiday spirit! Snow and cold rarely scare any of us away.
