1. Roaring Brook Falls, Cheshire

Located in the southwestern hills of Cheshire, the 1.5-mile loop trail is easy to access all year round. The 80-foot horsetail waterfall is considered one of the tallest waterfalls in Connecticut.

2. Leever-Nonnewaug Falls, Bethlehem

This 1.1-mile walk takes you through the woods and open fields. The waterfall is part horsetail and part plunge with an 18-foot drop over a rock face. The emerald green moss over the waterfall makes it truly look enchanted.

Be careful! The area is slippery and swimming is prohibited.

3. Enders Falls, Granby

The 0.8-mile loop leads you to five distinctly different waterfalls ranging in size from a 6-foot to a 30-foot drop. You can also enjoy swimming and fishing.

4. Blackledge Falls, Glastonbury

Located on an 80-acre parcel, the waterfalls are accessible via a heavily wooded 1.1-mile loop trail. The waterfall is 22-25 feet tall and has a gentle enough drop that you can stand under it. The amount of water is seasonal and greatly depends on how much water it gets from winter snow and rainstorms.

5. Campbell Falls, Norfolk

Located on the Connecticut-Massachusetts border, the out-and-back 1.4-mile hike is easily accessible all year round. Technically, the waterfall is on the Massachusetts side of the border, but people from both states not only enjoy the waterfalls, but also all of the amenities of Campbell Falls State Park.

6. Chapman Falls, East Haddam

Chapman Falls is one of the most gorgeous waterfalls in Connecticut. The short and moderate hike to the waterfall will give you a good workout for your legs and lead you to a dramatic waterfall. Any nature lover will want to spend a few hours exploring the trails.

7. Dean's Ravine Falls, Canaan

Located three miles in on the Mohawk Trail and only three miles from the Appalachian Trail, Dean's Ravine is one of Connecticut's must-visit waterfalls. You'll not only see a gorgeous 50-foot horsetail drop, but also cascades, and slides that make this waterfall worth the hike.
