You’d Never Know Some Of The Best Mexican Food In Montana Is Hiding In This Former Railroad Town

Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant in Livingston, Montana, offers delicious Mexican cuisine and American breakfasts, nestled between the Crazy and Absaroka Mountain Ranges.

Montana may not be a state that's known for its Mexican food, but that doesn't mean you can't find some gems. In fact, some of our state's most delicious Mexican restaurants are hiding in our small towns. And in the case of Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant, it sits nestled between the Crazy and Absaroka Mountain Ranges.

Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant is located in Clark's Crossing Plaza in Livingston.

The exterior is rather unassuming, and you might be tempted to pass it by. But stop in if you're hungry for a pleasant surprise.

Owner Cristian Ramirez has over 25 years of restaurant experience, beginning when he was just 14 years old.

With the help of his family, he opened his first restaurant in 2010. Since then, he's owned and operated multiple restaurants in both Texas and Missouri.

Of course, once you know and love Montana, it's difficult to leave it, as Cristian soon realized.

He was staying at the Super 8 in Livingston. While he was in town, he would bring some of his cooking to the hotel employees. The locals convinced him to open his own restaurant, and with the help of his nephew, Brian, he did.

You'll find all kinds of classics here, from tacos and burritos to fajitas and heartier entrees.

This is Poblano Steak Relleno, and it tastes even better than it looks.

Wash your meal down with some delicious Horchata.

It, along with the entire food menu, is available for takeout as well.

While the focus is on Mexican food, Los Pinos also serves good old-fashioned American and Mexican breakfasts.

If you're craving bacon and eggs or Huevos Rancheros, you've come to the right place.

Los Pinos is open Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Come see why so many Montanans love it.
