Pay close attention, too, or you might miss a joey peeking his head out of mama's pouch. Dozens of animals - from kangaroos and giraffes to maned wolves and hippos - call the zoo home.
Or, were greeted by a beautiful peacock who just happens to be on a stroll through the zoo? You can even schedule a private "Animal ReneZoo" for up to four people. Feed a giraffe, a zebra, or an otter, for example.
Dickerson Park Zoo also features a petting zoo where you can feed animals for $1. And, for $4, you can feed the giraffes, too.
Hungry? Stop for a bite to eat and something to drink at the zoo's cafe. Then, hop on the Titus Express Train for a picturesque ride around the park. One rides costs $2 per person for guests two and older (as of April 2019).
Create lifelong memories at Dickerson Park Zoo, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from April through October. Or, visit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from November through March annually.
