These 10 MORE Crazy Laws In Missouri Will Leave You Scratching Your Head In Wonder

Missouri has numerous bizarre laws, including restrictions on buying cars on Sundays and prohibitions on certain types of concerts.

In a previous post, we brought you 10 weird laws in Missouri that are truly bizarre; now, we are back with 10 more. (You didn't think Missouri's weird laws stopped at just 10, did you?!) Check out these 10 crazy laws in Missouri, and make sure you're not guilty of breaking any of them!

1. The last “Blue Law” in Missouri states that you can't buy a car or truck on Sunday. You can, however, buy a boat or a motorcycle. Weird, right?

2. In the town of Moberly, Missouri, it is illegal to race a stage coach down Rollins Street. Don't do it!

3. No outdoor "rock and roll" concerts are allowed in St. Charles County. (Kids these days with their rock music!)

Luckily, The Ozark Music Festival was held July 19-21, 1974 on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia... in Pettis County.

4. In Missouri, it is against the law to have or ride a "pocket rocket" in public.

For legal purposes, a "pocket rocket" is defined as a mini bike, pocket bike, or mini crotch rocket. (It sounds much dirtier than it is.)

5. In Missouri, all single men between the ages of 21 and 50 must pay an annual tax of one dollar.

This law was enacted in 1820; we're not sure why.

6. In Kansas City, the installation of bathtubs with four legs resembling animal paws is prohibited.

No claw foot tub for you!

7. In the town of Marceline, Missouri, minors can buy rolling paper and tobacco -- but not lighters.

This could be a good deterrent, right?

8. In University City, no person may have a “yard sale” in their front yard. Don't do it; you'll be breaking the law!

9. In University City, it is also illegal to request for someone to “watch over” your parked car.

10. On Sundays between 11:50 a.m. and 12:48 p.m., it is illegal to eat clam chowder.

Strangely, right at lunch time. What does Missouri have against clam chowder? Except that it's not toasted ravioli?

We're sure there are even more weird laws that are still on the books in Missouri. Do you know of any? Which of these weird laws in Missouri are you guilty of breaking? (Don't worry - we won't tell!)
