When it comes to waterfalls, Metro Detroit certainly isn’t the first place that comes to mind. After all, most of the top naturally occurring waterfalls in the Great Lakes State are tucked away in the Upper Peninsula, placing them out of reach for a quick day trip from Detroit. While our region isn’t home to attractions on the level of Tahquamenon Falls, there are plenty of manmade gems in the area – including a little-known waterfall near Detroit that you’ll want to see for yourself.
The Milford Waterfall is accessible off both Commerce Street and Milford Road in the small town of Milford, which can be reached by car from Detroit in approximately 40 minutes.
While this unique spot is situated just a stone’s throw away from restaurants like Charlie’s Still on Main, it remains something of a hidden treasure in town. Among Detroiters, it’s even more of an unknown spot.
