1. January: White Horse Inn - Metamora

7. July: Harbor Haus Restaurant - Copper Harbor

Another great summertime spot is Harbor Haus Restaurant on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The waterfront eatery is remote, but certainly worth the trip. Enjoy unbeatable views of Lake Superior while dining on a seafood-rich menu of oysters, lobster tails, and grilled lake trout. Between the flavors, atmosphere, and service, you're sure to be satisfied. Harbor Haus is open annually between May and October.

8. August: The Southerner - Saugatuck

As the final days of summer roll in, soak it up at The Southerner in Saugatuck. This charming spot draws tourists and locals alike with its mouthwatering menu. Fried chicken is the most popular dish, but other favorites include po'boys, pulled pork, and an assortment of craft cocktails. As you're eating, gaze out at the Kalamazoo River right outside. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

9. September: Woods Restaurant - Mackinac Island

In September, make your way to Mackinac Island to dine at Woods Restaurant, part of The Grand Hotel. If you're looking for cozy vibes come October, look no further than Bird Bar & Grill, a longtime neighborhood staple in Mt. Pleasant. In addition to local drinks and creative cocktails, visitors can look forward to enjoying some of the best cheese curds in the state. You'll also find other bar staples here, including pizzas and burgers. It's one of the best bars in Michigan. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. (Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.).

11. November: Turkey Roost - Kawkawlin

November often means Thanksgiving dinner, but the Turkey Roost in Kawkawlin offers turkey-centric deliciousness all year long. Since 1955, this iconic restaurant has been serving up daily helpings of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, and so much more. It’s easy to understand why it's one of many bucket list restaurants in Michigan. It's open every day except Tuesday and Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

12. December: Baobab Fare - Detroit

Baobab Fare has been named one of the best restaurants in Detroit, and it's easy to see why. The family-run spot offers delicious, vibrant flavors from East Africa, with customers absolutely raving about menu items like the coconut rice, plantains, and spiced coffee in particular. Come hungry to this Michigan gem: it's sure to leave you full, satisfied, and happy. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
