The Compass Harbor Trail Might Be One Of The Most Beautiful Short-And-Sweet Hikes To Take In Maine
Exploring the state of Maine is one of the easiest ways to remember just how much you love it here. Whether you’re fortunate enough to call Vacationland home or you just love visiting, it’s always a good idea to spend some time outside to get as close as you can to the heart of the state. The trails here range from difficult routes leading to mountain summits to the simple ones that allow us to simply clear our heads. This one, located in Acadia National Park, is one that doesn’t require a ton of hiking experience, but still leads to views you’ll never forget.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/nominate/
The Compass Harbor Trail is said to be best between May and October, but if you can mange to find a nice winter day it’s worth visiting. You can learn more about it on alltrails.com. Feel free to bring the pups with you, but make sure they’re on a leash.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
