Swanky's in Carencro offers a unique twist on Cajun cuisine in a historic, family-friendly setting.

Just north of Lafayette lies a charming little city by the name of Carencro. You may have never thought to drop by and see the sights of this city tucked away in the heart of Cajun Country, but there’s a hidden gem of a restaurant that’s putting a whole new spin on Cajun food, and you’re going to love it.

Swanky’s is a fun, family-friendly restaurant focusing on incredible Cajun cooking that will blow your taste buds away.

The restaurant was opened in 2016, but the building it is housed within has a history dating all the way back to 1901.

In fact, it’s the oldest commercial building in the historic district of downtown Carencro. From the moment you walk in, you'll be able to feel the history of the place.

With a name like Swanky’s, you might assume that it’s a fine-dining eatery, but this tasty place is comfortably rustic and endlessly welcoming, so sit back, relax, and prepare to feast on some incredible food.

Swanky’s honors the Cajun and Creole culinary heritage, so it’s no surprise to find a smorgasbord of seafood options on the menu.

From the shrimp platter to the crawfish enchiladas, you’ll find yourself at a crossroads deciding on what to get.

For starters, order a plate of their mouthwatering crawfish nachos for the table to share.

This tasty dish puts a new spin on Cajun cuisine, and you’re going to love it. It’s only offered seasonally, so get it while you can!

As far as entrees go, you can’t go wrong with Swanky’s signature dish: Catfish Carencro.

This homestyle dish features your choice of either fried of grilled catfish topped with their signature Tasso and crabmeat sauce. You’ll find yourself wanting to lick the plate!

If you’re not in the mood for seafood, there are plenty of other options, including burgers and chicken dishes.

Pictured above is another one of their popular menu items, the Cro-Dawg, which features two hot dogs topped with chili, cheese, jalapeños, and onions.

You’ll also find several hearty, home-cooked, Southern-style meals like chicken fried steak.
