The Amazing Sandy Beach Every Louisianan Will Want To Visit
Even though Louisiana is a coastal state, we don’t really have the beach reputation our Gulf Coast friends to the east do, but that just means our hidden beaches in Louisiana are that much more special. When you’re looking for new outdoor adventures in Louisiana, there’s one particular state park that’s home to a beautiful little beach that’s just delightful on a hot summer day.

Like all Louisiana State Parks, admission is $3 per person, which is a deal if you ask me!

There's a parking lot nearby, and a paved walkway straight to the beach, which will make carrying any beach gear with you much easier than dragging it through the sand.

The park is open every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., so if you can't make it during the week, try to get there early to snag a good spot.

As with most beaches, shade is hard to come by, and you'll want a shady spot to escape those harsh sunbeams after a while!

As someone who grew up in this area, I can confirm this is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Louisiana. There's just nothing like it!

You may even be inspired to do a little photoshoot! Many, many high school photos, wedding photos, and family photos have been shot here, it's almost a rite of passage for St. Tammany residents. With views like that, it's a no-brainer.
If you’re wanting a coastal beach day, head down to Rutherford Beach, another one of our favorite hidden beaches in Louisiana. It’s one of the best places in Louisiana to find seashells, and you can park your car right on the beach!
