Turpentine Hill Trail is located in Kisatchie National Forest. It’s a pretty hike that will take you to a beautiful forest overlook.
You’ll start off in the parking area and wind your way through the woods, traveling uphill most of the way. Take a few minutes to enjoy the spring wildflowers, summer sunshine, or wintery landscape.
The overlook is the perfect spot to stop for a break or to snap a few photos. The grass here is pretty scrubby, but nothing a thick picnic blanket can’t handle.
This hike is a loop trail, so you can continue to follow the path in order to find your way back to your car. Leashed dogs are permitted. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water if you’re hiking in warmer weather.
