Every once in awhile, we come across a place that we just know is extra special. We share many hidden gems and soul-filled restaurants and really each of them has its own special charm and appeal. But when a restaurant and its owner have quite literally risen from the ashes – and have a heroic theme to prove it – you know you’ve found something one-of-a-kind. Super Chefs is a super hero themed restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky that is seriously awesome and definitely worth a visit.
Super Chefs was a thriving restaurant in the St. Matthews neighborhood of Louisville until a fire forced it to close in January of 2016.
Thankfully, Chef Darnell Ferguson is extremely resilient and passionate and reopened his super hero themed dining destination in the Highlands later that year. It now stands as a popular restaurant for all three meals of the day and the super hero theme resonates with those who know its story, as well as those who enjoy a unique dining experience.
The interior of Super Chefs is fun, inviting and actually looks different depending on which time of day you go.
Super Chefs serves breakfast and lunch from 8am to 3pm, Sunday - Thursday. If you visit during this time, you'll find a playful atmosphere and relaxed, themed decor. But when dinner is served Thursday - Saturday from 5pm to 10pm, the vibe changes to a slightly different feel and ambiance. This is definitely on purpose and gives you another reason to visit this gem of a restaurant several times!

Chef Darnell is indeed a Super Chef as he and his staff create some of the best menu items you'll find in Louisville.
The restaurant is especially known for its waffles and you can try them as an appetizer bites or topped with insane toppings like caramel syrup and candied bacon. Other breakfast and lunch favorites include the Pancake Platter, the Super Chef's Omelet, and the Bron Bron Burger topped with crab and pork.
The dinner menu is extra special and filled with so many mouthwatering options that you'll have a difficult time choosing one.
Definitely take time to look over the entire creative menu, but make sure you head to the "Villains" section and check out items like the Riddler (meatloaf cupcakes) and Lex Luthor (shrimp & grits).
Super Chefs is a soul-filled restaurant that will fill your belly and inspire you to see life in a positive light.
That's a big job for a restaurant in Kentucky to achieve, but Super Chef Darnell Ferguson and his team achieve it day in and day out at this epic super hero themed Kentucky dining destination.
