Enjoying The All-You-Can-Eat Southern Food At Dustie’s Southern Style Buffet In Illinois Belongs On Any Dining Bucket List

Hungry? Not for long! Today we've got one of our favorite places to visit when we're hungry for something filling. We don't mean the kind of place where you walk in, order from the menu and get on with your day. We mean the kind of place you plan for. The kind of place you skip a meal the day before to prepare for. This spot will have you feeling satisfied and full for the rest of the day.

You could say that Dustie's Southern Style Buffet in Matteson was a long time coming! Owner, Dr. Kenneth Lewis Sr., was hatching entrepreneurial plans all the way back when he was just 8 years old. While we appreciate that, we're glad he moved on from selling vegetables from the back of a truck to create one of our favorite restaurants in the state back in 1997!

Their Chicago-style southern food can't be beat and you won't find anything like it anywhere else.

There are tons of options, from southern to soul food featuring things like ribs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and old-fashioned mac and cheese.

There's plenty of seating, which means this is a great place to come with a large group. Perhaps if you're celebrating a birthday.

In fact, particularly if you're celebrating a birthday. Dustie's has fed more than 250,000 for free on their birthdays as a way to say thanks for being a part of the community.

That could also be why Dustie's earned the Steve Harvey Neighborhood Award in 2015. And they've been voted the No. 1 ribs and soul food restaurant in the nation.

You'll often hear people referring to their "first plate" at Dustie's because there's always a second and third!

And, just to round things out, they even have a salad bar to keep you healthy.
