We've reviewed the safest places to live in Georgia, the most dangerous places to live in Georgia, and the richest places in Georgia, and now we're taking a look at the poorest cities in Georgia. I have listed mostly counties, with a mix of a few cities.

Please be aware that when I say phrases like "poorest city in Georgia," by no means am I saying that any of these areas are bad places to live! On the contrary, these places all have their own charm and beauty, and their residents love their homes with good reason. This list is organized by median household income only. Remember that in places with a lower cost of living, a lower income doesn't mean a loss in quality of life. All of these cities and counties are beautiful, with one county on the list serving as home to one of Georgia's 7 natural wonders!

10. Macon

The median household income here is $27,934. Even though it is one of the "poorer" cities in Georgia, this town is a city full of history and rich in culture. The town of Macon, Georgia is a lovely place to live even though the average income here is lower than in other cities.

9. Calhoun

The median household income in this city is $27,860. Calhoun is full of history and adventure with a few Civil War battlegrounds and nature trails to explore. If you are a history buff, you will definitely enjoy a trip to Calhoun, Georgia.

7. Jefferson
