From classic custard to a slice of pizza, and everything in between, we've picked out the dishes you absolutely must try. Here are nine Milwaukee dishes that you won't want to pass up.
1. A sundae from Leon's Frozen Custard.
Frozen custard is a staple here in Milwaukee, and Leon's does it best. Stop into this iconic spot for a famous sundae or a cone of butter pecan custard! You haven't truly experienced Milwaukee until you've had some old fashioned frozen custard.

2. Sausages at The Vanguard.

4. A Bloody Mary from Sobelmans.
Milwaukee does Bloody Marys unlike any other, and the Bloodys at Sobelmans are an experience to be had by all. Whether you're looking for a classic Bloody, or looking to turn it into a whole meal topped with cheese burgers and fried chicken, this is the place to be. These Bloody Marys have been featured on shows like Man vs. Food, so they take a lot to tackle, but rest assured they never disappoint.

5. Alberto's tacos at La Casa De Alberto.
Homemade Mexican food hits the spot unlike anything else, and Alberto's tacos are straight from his kitchen! If you're only going to one Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee, let it be the eclectic south side spot.

8. Homestyle meatloaf from Comet Cafe.
Home cooked meals are hard to find when you're not actually at home, but this meatloaf will give you that warm and fuzzy feeling you only have after a made-from-scratch meal! Comet serves great homemade food in a modern-feeling space, and they have great vegetarian and vegan options too. This homestyle meatloaf with beer gravy will have you fully satisfied.
