Bubba’s Cooks Country in Dallas offers nostalgic Southern comfort food, especially known for its fried chicken.

Brought to you by the same family who owns Babe's Chicken Dinner House, Bubba's Cooks Country is a lesser-known spot for Southern comfort food in North Texas. If you love fried chicken, there's no place quite like Bubba's Cooks Country in Dallas.

Since 1981, this family-owned restaurant has been dishing out classic Southern comfort food made using time-honored recipes passed down over generations.

Once inside, you'll be transported straight back to the 1950s.

Black and white checkered floors, red leather chairs, and neon signs offer a heavy dose of nostalgia for days long gone.

As for the menu, it's far from fancy - but that's what we love about it.

Fried chicken is the star of the show, with leg, wing, thigh, and breast pieces available (both white and dark meat.) Plates come with either one, two, or three pieces, and include veggies and either a yeast roll or cornbread.

Other entrees include chicken-fried steak, chicken tenders, catfish, chicken livers, and chicken and dumplings.

Daily sides include mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, baked beans, ambrosia salad, green salad, and seasoned fries. You'll also see an array of rotating veggies and sides, including black-eyed peas, candied yams, okra and tomatoes, and other down-home favorites.

Bubba's serves breakfast every day from 6:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. We can't imagine a better way to start the day!

From scrambled eggs as fluffy as clouds to pillow-soft buttermilk pancakes, there's something for everyone.

Treat your sweet tooth all day long - at breakfast time, homemade cinnamon rolls and bran or blueberry muffins are just the indulgence your morning needs.

If you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, cap off your meal with some cherry cobbler, banana pudding, or an apricot fried pie. Too full? Take it to go!

Address: 6617 Hillcrest Avenue, Dallas, TX 75205.

Hours are 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily.
