We found a small town right here in Tennessee that has some of the best Mexican food in the state, if not in the Southeast. This town is truly a must-visit for the Mexican food lover as well as the casual visitor. Let's take a trip to the town of Maryville.

Maryville is a small town just outside of Knoxville in East Tennessee. The town may seem unassuming, but don't let that fool you -- it has some of the best Mexican food in the state.

Maryville is right at the foot of Great Smoky Mountain National Park, meaning that this Mexican Food Mecca is the perfect place for not only locals but also visitors of the park, looking for good, authentic tacos.

Los Amigos is one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. The restaurant is run by husband and wife team Hector and Gloria Gomez who make it their mission to serve top quality Mexican food in a family environment.

Los Amigos was actually the first even Mexican Restaurant in Blount County. The Gomez family started the restaurant 22 years ago after moving to Tennessee from Mexico. Today, they continue to provide service and food that sticks to their roots.

We highly recommend their tacos and their fajitas. Los Amigos is known for piling their plates high with more meat than veggies, so you know you'll leave full and satisfied (and possibly with some leftovers).

Prices at Los Amigos are reasonable, with all dishes costing less than $15. Great Mexican food that's also this cheap is a rare and wonderful occurrence anywhere, but having it right in our own backyard in Tennessee? How can it get any better?
