The former life of this popular South Carolina restaurant may surprise you. For foodies who love nostalgia, this hip eatery in Charleston takes the recent trend of converting old filling stations to "fueling stations" to a whole new level.
The restaurant, simply called Fuel, opened about five years ago.
The owner, Justin Broome, wanted to keep the aesthetics of the filling station in place so what you get is one very cool and nostalgic eatery.
And what you can't see from the outside of FUEL may surprise you...
...the inside of the building has about 1700 square feet, but the outside is huge!
The courtyard also holds more nostalgia with a few relics from this building's past.
And there are a few surprises inside also, like this light fixture that used to be the handle of a gas pump.
In addition to novelty, FUEL serves up fare with a Caribbean flair, including house-ground burgers, nachos and tacos.
From the unique features held over from the previous life of this building, to the inside seating and the outside as well, FUEL is a one-of-a-kind restaurant in the most unforgettable setting.
You'll be pleasantly surprised by the unique setting of this Charleston eatery. Have you been to FUEL? They're located at 211 Rutledge Ave, Charleston, SC 29403. You can find more information here.
