New Jersey has so many excellent restaurants, but if you're looking to be absolutely enchanted, one place truly stands out. It offers a unique atmosphere, magical outdoor dining and absolutely delectable desserts. You won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind eatery.

There are several shops on Old River Road in Edgewater, but one facade is a bit different than the rest.

This is Archetypus Cafe, a cave-inspired eatery that has you feeling as if you're surrounded by stone.

You'll find many unique decor elements including skylights, vines and lush greenery, candles at every table and abundant artwork.

It evokes a different time and place, there is magic in the air.

Try to score a seat in the back, with its beautiful alcoves.

The private booths offer the feeling of true seclusion - you'll be in your own world.

It's not just the ambiance that makes this place special, the food is delicious. Start with a hummus platter - reviewers rave about it.

The menu offers a mix of cuisines, ranging from pizzas to quesadillas to gyros and garden burgers.

But it's the desserts you'll absolutely fall in love with. Enjoy Raspberry Fudge Brownie Cheesecake, Sakura (Green Tea Ice Cream, Pocky and Matcha Tea Powder on a Fudge Brownie) and Tiramisu Delight.

Other favorites include the PB Kingsley (brownie, ice cream, peanut butter sauce, salted caramel) and Appalachian Sunshine (layered carrot cake, banana ice cream, walnuts, coconut and pineapple).

In warmer weather, you can dine on the picturesque patio.

Portions are sized for sharing, though I've definitely finished off a giant sundae on my own - and I don't regret it. You'll find Cafe Archetypus at 266 Old River Road, Edgewater.
