There’s Nothing Better Than The Coastal Jessie Creek Winery On A Warm New Jersey Day
Jessie Creek Winery in New Jersey offers a bayside escape with wine tastings, live music events, and a historic bed and breakfast.
Did you know that New Jersey's outer coastal plain is ideal winemaking territory? While many of the region's vineyards focus on sweet fruit wines, there are a few places growing classic grapes to make wine that can compete with anything coming out of Napa! One of these vineyards, Jessie Creek Winery, is a bayside escape for vinophiles in the Garden State.
Jessie Creek Winery opened in 2010 on a former vineyard that has been sitting relatively vacant on the shores of the Delaware Bay.
Soon, though, the vines came to life! Inspired by visions of Napa and experiences in California wine country, Dr. Bruce Morrison began to rejuvenate the winery and kick off winemaking operations.
Today, Jessie Creek Winery grows grapes for Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a hybrid grape Chambourcin.
You can swing by the winery store to pick up a few bottles and be on your way, but the true magic of Jessie Creek reveals itself when you choose to stay awhile.
Stop in for a tasting, or hang out during one of their many live music events and you'll soon feel right at home. The winery is steps away from the beaches of the Delaware Bay, and even on hot summer evenings, the breezes off of the water make this a beautiful place to relax.
There's always something new going on! Try a wine slushie for a unique drink that's sure to cool you off.
Jessie Creek Winery is a great place to bring a group for private events, parties, or to enjoy one of their many public events. The winery has also become a local art gallery, so there's plenty to do!
Feel like you could stay here forever? Well, you can stay for a bit! The Inn at Jessie Creek is a lovely historic Bed and Breakfast that you can book by the night.
