The Brand New Restaurant In New Jersey That’s Already Impossible To Get Into

Summit House in Summit, New Jersey, offers upscale, locally-inspired New American cuisine in a historic setting, attracting diners with its creative menu and exquisite bar offerings.

New Jersey has a fantastic dining scene, spread throughout the state. It isn't just one city, you can find incredible food anywhere. We all have our favorites but it's always fun when a new restaurant is added into the mix. This eagerly anticipated eatery is finally open and already garnering rave reviews.

Which eagerly anticipated eatery am I referring to? Summit House, in (unsurprisingly) Summit.

The restaurant was in development for nearly five years before opening this April. Housed in a former YMCA building, it focuses on fresh, local cuisine. Though not at all stuffy, this is definitely an upscale eatery.

Elegant and community-focused, it's already become a popular gathering place.

How popular? You'll want to make reservations at least a month in advance for a Saturday night meal. Crowds are to be expected with top chef Martin Kester (named one of New Jersey's best sous chefs in 2015). The menu features "New American" cuisine inspired by the Garden State.

The creative cuisine options are sure to please your palate.

Enjoy a seasonal raw bar, snacks like spiced popcorn and entrees including Griggstown Chicken (asparagus, baby potato, porcini, black truffle) and Wagyu Tri-Tip (oyster mushrooms, tatsoi, white turnip, miso pistou). You can also enjoy a burger but it's anything but basic, topped with spring onion, pickles, horseradish and house brioche.

The bar is equally as exquisite.

Indulge in locally brewed beers, terroir-driven wines, and cocktails created by award winning mixologist, Tad Carducci. Pictured is the Summit House Manhattan: Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon, Montanaro Vermouth di Torino, maraschino liqueur and a whisky cherry, poured over smoked applewood.

You'll also find a selection of delectable desserts.

Choose from options including rhubarb tart, meyer lemon pot de creme, chocolate pudding and house made ice creams and sorbets.

Originally open for dinner only, lunch and brunch are now available.

I can imagine that brunch crowds will flock here on Sundays for options including avocado toast, sourdough pancakes and a french toast skillet. Let's not forget the brunch donuts - yum!

A trip here is sure to be a treat and the service is spectacular. Look for the little extras that make you feel welcome. Visit Summit House at 395 Springfield Avenue, Summit. While you're waiting for your reservation, check out one of New Jersey's other fantastic restaurants including this Pinelands eatery on the Mullica River or this mom and pop Italian spot.
