The Mom & Pop Restaurant In New Jersey That Serves The Most Mouthwatering Home Cooked Meals

If you haven't noticed, I'm a little obsessed with the New Jersey dining scene. We have incredible gourmet restaurants like Chez Catherine in Westfield, offer mouthwatering cultural cuisines like the Central and South American dishes you'll find at Cucharamama in Hoboken and serve up some of the best seafood on the coast at restaurants like The Lobster House in Cape May. New Jersey is also home to a number of mom & pop shops and some are simply unforgettable.

Boniello's is a small strip-mall restaurant located in Riverdale, New Jersey.

A family business through and through, nearly the entire Boniello family gets in on the action. From managing to serving to baking, everyone has a role; your role is to enjoy the delicious dishes they cook up. After a single visit, you'll feel like family. In fact, Food/Friends/Family is their motto. The welcoming atmosphere isn't all you'll love - they serve some of the best Italian food in the state.

Their menu of Italian-American favorites is sure to delight.

Though the restaurant may be a bit on the smaller side, the menu is surprisingly large. You'll find pizza, pasta, shrimp, stromboli, chicken parmigiana and homemade meatballs. What to try first? It's hard to decide when everything is so good. Most of the appetizers are priced under $10, so sample a few. The eggplant dishes are spectacular and Uncle Juniors Meatball Sliders (served on garlic knots) are also a favorite.

The pizza is SO good.

The pizza, also available for takeout, is another popular pick. Choose from a crispy, flaky Sicilian pie or a cheesy classic - you can't go wrong. They offer plenty of toppings so that you can create your perfect pizza.

The dessert may be better.

Don't forget about dessert! The cannoli tastes just like grandma's and Aunt Donna's homemade cupcakes make life worth living. You can also enjoy gems like fried Oreos, Nutella pizza and Zeppolis made with Great Grandma's recipe.

And, they're a community staple.

Another plus? They offer regular dine and donate events to give back. From quick, casual bites (Italian hot dogs) to succulent seafood dishes (blackened salmon served with veggies, rice and white wine lemon sauce), their menu has something for everyone. And, it's BYOB!
