There Is A Massive Chocolate Festival Headed To Missouri In March

The Chocolate Extravaganza in Hannibal, Missouri, offers a three-day festival for chocolate lovers to sample decadent treats across downtown.

Chocolate lovers have a whole lot of chocolatey goodness to look forward to this March. For three glorious days, the Chocolate Extravaganza in Missouri gives chocoholics the opportunity to sample some of the most decadent chocolate in the state. If you love chocolate, add this delicious festival to your to-do list – and get your chocolate passport as soon as you can.

Hannibal transforms into a chocolate wonderland for the 13th Annual Chocolate Extravaganza, set for March 10-12, 2023.

Unlike some festivals that are held in a single facility, the Chocolate Extrvaganza takes place throughout Downton Hannibal. Festival-goers will have the chance to explore the historic downtown and to sample decadent chocolate goodies.

To sample that chocolatey goodness, you must purchase a Chocolate Passport. Each passport features tickets that you can redeem at participating businesses for a chocolate treat.

The Chocolate Extravaganza features three passport levels – Standard, Experience, and Chocolatier. Standard comes with five tickets; Experience with 10 and Chocolatier is top-tier with 20 tickets.

Dutch Country General Store, one of the festivals sponsors and participants, will be offering, for example, Piper’s Handmade Assorted Chocolates for one ticket. Or toast your love of chocolate with a chocolate martini at Finn’s Food & Spirits.

Passport items will be available at all participating businesses on Saturday. Select businesses will offer those same items on Friday and Sunday.

Check out some of the special activities during the festival, too. Mississippi Marketplace hosts a “How to Make Chocolate Gravy” cooking demonstration.

Passports are available for purchase at The Mark Twain Dinette in advance or during the select hours during the festival.

Find a list of all participating businesses on the official website of Historic Downtown Hannibal. Or, check them out on Facebook.
