It’s no secret that Oxford has some great restaurants. The city has been repeatedly revered for its culinary scene, with USA Today dubbing it a foodie gem. Among the mouthwatering mix of eateries that fill the food-centric city is The Luv Shak. Quirky in all the right ways, the restaurant serves up a fare of bagels and Italian food. It may seem like an odd combo, but the owner has perfected both – and your taste buds are sure to agree. Take a look:

Aptly named, The Luv Shak is housed in a tiny shack-like structure. The kind of place only locals know about, it’s a bit off the beaten path.

The owner is from New York – something that inspired his decision to focus on a fare of bagels and Italian food, aiming to bring the Big Apple to Mississippi.

Though The Luv Shak has been in business for several years now, it only expanded its menu to include Italian food in 2018.

Freshly-made and offered in a variety of flavors, the bagels alone were reason enough to visit the tiny eatery…

…but the addition of the Italian cuisine makes a visit even more imperative.

Each day, a different special is featured. Enjoy all the classics, including meatballs, chicken parmesan, and tortellini and a variety of other pastas.

Quick bits and appetizers, such as pepperoni rolls and fried ravioli, are also available from time to time.

The food is New York all the way, but the hospitality is completely Mississippi. According to diners, you’ll feel right at home as soon as you walk up to the counter to place your order.

And while the interior is small, it’s packed with some unexpected finds, like vintage band posters and a pinball machine, which, by the way, is free to play.
