Most People Don’t Know About The Apothecary, A Speakeasy-Type Lounge In Mississippi        

Speakeasies may have disappeared long ago, but that doesn’t make them any less alluring. In fact, it’s not uncommon to come across bars modeled after the obscure watering holes of decades past. Lucky for us, we have such a bar here in the Magnolia State. Take a look:

This is Brent’s Drugs in Jackson. A popular eatery, it’s not normally thought of as a nighttime spot.

Brent’s is most known for its retro vibe and classic diner fare. However, that’s not all there is to the iconic Jackson locale.

Tucked away, in the back of Brent’s, you’ll find The Apothecary, a speakeasy-type lounge.

Just like the secret bars of the prohibition era, The Apothecary is somewhat hidden.

But its unassuming locale isn’t the only nod to the watering holes of the past. There’s also the dim lighting and cozy booths.

Knowledgeable bartenders only add to the old-fashioned feel. Sure to please, the drink selection includes everything from specialty and seasonal drinks to classic cocktails.

Not sure what to order? No problem; simply tell the bartender your liquor of choice, and they’ll recommend something for you.

The Apothecary serves up more than great drinks, though.

The nightly fare also includes small plates, like hummus and a cheese plate. On Fridays and Saturdays, the menu expands to include heartier dishes, such as burgers and sandwiches.

Between the menu selection and the ambiance, The Apothecary is perfect for everything from date night to a night out with friends.
